Practical guidance on preparing documents and appointments for notarial assistance in Cambodia.
Last reviewed: 5 September 2026
This page is general information, not legal advice. The appropriate act, evidence and authority must be confirmed for each document and transaction.
Acts and documents
- Document review and preparation by a lawyer
- Authentication, witnessing, certification or other notarial assistance where the office is able to assist
- Powers of attorney, corporate documents, declarations and transaction documents may require different formalities; confirm the requested act before appointment.
Identification and authority
- Individuals should bring a valid passport or Cambodian identification document and any supporting identity records requested.
- Company representatives should bring company registration documents, authority documents, board or shareholder approvals where relevant, and proof of signing authority.
- Bring originals and copies where available; witnesses, photographs, translations and supporting authority documents may be required depending on the act. Requirements: To be confirmed by MLV.
Language and translation
Instruments should be prepared in a language understood by the parties and accepted for the relevant act. A certified translation or interpreter may be required where a party or authority cannot understand the instrument. Confirm language requirements before signing.
Lawyer work and notarial acts
Legal advice and document preparation involve advising on rights, risks and drafting. Notarial authentication, witnessing, certification or another notarial act is a separate formal function. A lawyer’s advice does not by itself establish that a particular document has been notarised.
Appointment checklist
- Identify the document and requested act in advance
- Bring original identification, originals and copies
- Bring corporate authority, powers of attorney and supporting evidence
- Confirm language, translation and interpreter needs
- Do not sign documents in advance where signing must be witnessed
- Contact MLV to arrange an appointment and confirm requirements
Notarial contact
- Mak Dane is listed in the existing verified project profile as Attorney-at-Law. The project does not verify a specific licence or authority for every notarial act; do not assume that any particular act can be performed until MLV confirms it.
- Contact MLV Law Group to discuss an appointment.
