ATTORNEY-AT-LAW

HOR ENGMOUY

Hor Engmouy is a fully qualified Attorney-at-Law at MLV Law Group and an active member of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia (BAKC). She is recognised within the firm for her specialised expertise in family law, with particular strength in the intersection of family relationships, marital property, succession and the civil-property frameworks that govern family wealth and disputes in Cambodia.

PROFILE

Biography

Ms. Hor holds a Master’s Degree (Master 2) in Land and Patrimony Law (Droit Foncier et du Patrimoine) from the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) in collaboration with Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (France), together with a Bachelor of Laws from RULE. Admitted to the Bar on 23 March 2023 (Bar ID No. 2500; Practicing Decision No. 237/BAKC-MT/23), she combines deep doctrinal knowledge of Cambodia’s civil and property systems with practical experience in litigation support, client advisory and court practice. This foundation is especially valuable in family-law matters involving marital property division, inheritance of land and assets, and the protection of family interests under the Civil Code.

At MLV Law Group, Ms. Hor advises and represents clients on the full spectrum of family-law issues arising under Cambodian law. She handles contested and non-contested family disputes, including divorce proceedings, questions of parental authority and child custody, applications concerning the residence of children, and the division of marital property. She also assists with the preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, succession planning, wills and estate matters, and the coordination of family-related property and land issues. Her earlier service as Legal Assistant and Legal Practitioner at Chhun Chrea Law Office (from April 2015) equipped her with strong capabilities in case preparation, legal research, court coordination and the drafting of agreements and dispute-settlement claims—skills she now applies to sensitive family and succession matters.

Clients value her methodical, precise and discreet approach, her clear advisory style, and her ability to navigate both the emotional and the technical dimensions of family law while protecting the legal and property interests of the family under Cambodian civil law.
