Many Cambodian businesses have cross-border financing, foreign shareholders or assets in multiple jurisdictions. When distress arises, coordination between Cambodian proceedings and foreign insolvency or restructuring processes becomes critical. We advise on recognition of foreign proceedings, the treatment of Cambodian assets and creditors, and the design of parallel or coordinated strategies. Although Cambodia is not yet a party to the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency, practical cooperation and comity principles can still be invoked.
