Open-source software is widely used in products and internal systems of companies operating in Cambodia, yet license compliance is frequently overlooked. We advise technology companies, investors and acquirers on the obligations that arise under common open-source licenses (GPL, LGPL, MIT, Apache and others), including copyleft implications, attribution requirements, and source-code disclosure risks. Our work includes open-source audits in the context of M&A due diligence, development of internal open-source policies, and negotiation of commercial licenses that interact with open-source components. Proper management of open-source risk protects both product integrity and valuation in financing or exit transactions.
