Succession to property on death is governed by the Civil Code’s rules on inheritance, wills and forced heirship. We advise on the preparation of wills that comply with Cambodian formal requirements, on the rights of spouses and children as forced heirs, and on strategies (including lifetime gifts and corporate structures) that achieve the client’s succession objectives within the legal framework. We also assist with the administration of estates, the collection and distribution of assets, and the resolution of inheritance disputes. Where the estate has cross-border elements—assets or heirs in other countries—we coordinate with foreign counsel to ensure consistent and efficient administration.
